What A Beau Hunk!

Coming soon

Really? ...No Seriously, Really?

I was online looking for a expensive champagne to start my 2009 of with a little decadence in hopes of bring a lot more prosperity in the coming year.

Mind you the last time I did this was 96 into 97 and my life flipped over for the better that year.
So I figure if it work then it may work now.

Not that I'm complaining, my life is pretty good right now. I am blessed. I'm just being a itzy bit greedy.

I paid around $129 in 96 for a bottle of Salon Champagne.

It's not as bourgeoisie as say Dom or ghetto like Christal. It was quite a nice bubbly. It was so very sweet and yummy. I drank the whole bottle and was quite toasted.

So guess how much it is now.
Come on guess
How much is it now.
How much would I have to pay
(click on the bottle to find out)
BTW It's more expensive than Cristal

She's Baaaaaaaaaack

I meant to post about this earlier when I got back from London. It's old news now but I still dig it,
She back with a vengeance and she's 60.

Sometimes I Dream

It snowed last night and it took me almost 3 hours to get home.
If only I could be this chick
It would be so delightful. I would have a fabulous wardrobe and
I get to annoy people by tap tap tappin on your windowpane.

Suzy Snowflake
I think this was an exclusively Chicago tradition over the holidays for over 50 years. It was a precursor for the claymation specials like Santa Claus is coming to town and Rudolf the Red-nose Reindeer.

Enough is Enough (Holiday special)

Ever hear of the holiday song - The Christmas Shoes.
They play this song over and over and over.
Then they made a fucking movie about the song
Here is the music video

I love Patton Oswald's take on the song it's brilliant.

I Like Life

Here's a clip from one of my all time holiday favorites. It's the musical version of A Christmas Carol. It's written by the same guys who wrote the musical Oliver. It's called Scrooge. This scene is the visit from the Ghost of Christmas Present.

Cu pid... Draw back your bow

Here's a fun little test.

You Are Cupid

A total romantic, you're always crushing on a new reindeer.

Why You're Naughty: You've caused so much drama, all the reindeers aren't speaking to each other.

Why You're Nice: You have a knack for playing matchmaker. You even hooked Rudolph up!

What A Beau Hunk!

Finally saw Stardust this week. Michelle Pfifer was very good. Robert Deniro was borderline offensive until his storyline ended well. The trailer follows.

But this guy what a scrummy beau hunk*.
Charlie Cox.

*I'm using "beau hunk" as a positive and scrummy means Scrumptious and yummy

Early Childhood Memory

This is some fucked up shit and it would explain a lot.. For some reason I remember this movie when I was a kid. It's from 1973.  I was 6 or 7. When I looked it up on IMDB It was listed as X (in the UK) rated but PG in the US. It's about a psycho who murders and dismembers blonde women in a hotel. I still remember the song.

This is the trailer for it

The Wizard of Oz

While I watch the Wizard of Oz and given the recent
drama after the election. It seems to me that the Cowardly Lion was written with a touch of homophobia.
Just check out the lyrics for If I Only Had the Nerve. above
I know he's becomes a hero in the end.
I'm just sayin

What the...? Really?

Here's a real obscure one. I had a hard time figuring this one out. I had heard the song for many years and never figured out the name of song. I only ran across the remixes it when i was working at a dance music store in 1994. I always thought was by DFC.

Jennifer Rush - Heart Over Mind

Here's an obscure blast from my past. It was 1987 and I still wasn't legal. I remember seeing this video at Christopher Street, Bulldog Road and the quintessential video bar Sidetrack in Chicago. I especially particular sloppy (in more ways than one) nights at Christopher Street. Oh those were the days.

Oh BTW she did this one before Celine but not before Laura Branigan

Face to Face - Under the Gun

I was going through my stacks and stacks of vinyl to convert into MP3s for my iPod and came across this 12"

Face to Face - Under the Gun (1984)

I so totally remember it like yesterday. I was but a wee child of 17 (1984 you do the math) and saw the video at one of those special social places I wasn't supposed to be in. I was a naughty child. But to quote Janis Ian "I learned the truth at 17". And like Janis Ian I became a lesbian except I didn't like chicks. Oh the sweet blossom of youth.

Expect a lot more post like this as I journey through the music of my virginal (riiiiiiiiiiiiiight) youth.

Can't wait.

Oops WHAT HAVE I DONE?!?!

OK so I have this blog.
I just deleted it by accident thinking it was another blog I have under another account.
Stupid that I am I wasn't logged into that account to delete it.

Doi I deleted this one. Just when I got it looking the way I wanted.
Oh well I guess I'll have a new fresh slate.
